Linda Kinzler

LCSW

My approach is wholistic which addresses needs of mind, body and spirit.

,As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my 3-4 decades of experience have been to provide both psychotherapeutic counseling as well as a wide variety of health and medical social work services.

I work with adults of all ages (18 to 108!). Each decade has its own challenges and anxiety, depression, addictions, insecurities, relational issues, health and other issues of all kinds can hamper us at any age. I love to use my heart, experience, training and faith practices to create a safe place and provide support to overcome what’s holding you back—to help empower you to reach the fullness, freedom and joy of your own life and relationships. Please see my areas of expertise below.

Working with underlying spiritual faith issues is an important part of my practice. My own background is Christian and I have years of counseling training in alignment with the bible and Christian faith and know this is my greatest source of effectiveness, yet I’m able to work objectively with people who have no particular faith or come from various faith traditions.

My approach is wholistic which addresses needs of mind, body and spirit. Nutrition, exercise and other integrative aspects of health are an important part of my expertise and practice.

One of my life experiences that led me into the work I do was being widowed at the age of 41 with 2 young children, preceded by “walking with” my husband through his 2½ years of medical issues which resulted in his death due to leukemia—a diagnosis we had gotten wrong earlier.

In terms of medical work, my training plus practical experience personally and with scores of clients and their families have equipped me to offer support to individuals and families to navigate the medical system and the challenges illness brings. Professionally I have worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in acute & rehab hospitals, Hospice, skilled home health, and dialysis. The personal experience of overseeing my own elderly mother’s care for 8 years was priceless in equipping me to help others do the same thing. In her case, I was able to keep her in her own home despite seemingly impossible obstacles including overseeing a myriad of caregivers and having only a “shoestring” budget since her finances had run out.
